WebAFAIK - oil takes an incredibly long time to form. I also don't think that any "new" oil is forming. The circumstances that created all the oil we have now, no longer exist. In the future we will need to shift from fossil fuels over to electric. At this point, wasting more oil is going to set us up for a materials shortage in the future.
