WebAug 29, 2024 · Thin film coatings have extremely low surface scatter compared to aluminum or enhanced aluminum coatings. Dielectric coatings (if done right) will result in less scattered light. Examination with a laser source shows approximately a 5 fold reduction in surface scatter, a tremendous improvement over aluminum mirrors. WebJan 29, 2024 · These will enable you to take advantage of the two inch light path already built in on your LX90 instead of just using the 1.25" to 2" adapter. Enjoy! Just realize, No benefit on 8" scopes. Peterson visual back only beneficial on some scopes over 8".

In addition to the oversized shipping box and ample packing peanuts I've come to associate with Astronomics, the diagonal comes in a foam-lined cardboard box. Very secure. WebApr 9, 2024 · This is a nice diagonal, but note that the clear aperture is restricted to around 40mm to 42mm because of the eyepiece barrel stop in the top of the diagonal body. I believe this is fairly common. I use the Baader diagonal because it has a 47mm+ clear aperture, slightly larger than the rear opening in my C9.25 SCT. Although the current diagonal is 2", all my current eyepieces are 1.25" (6.5 Morpheus, 12.5 Morpheus, ES 24 mm 68). I also read that the C8 was designed to be optimal using a 1.25" diagonal. Would you get a 1.25" or 2" diagonal for this scope?

WebDec 18, 2024 · If you don't mind the slightly dimmer view of Amici diagonals and the longer light path that is up to you. The light in an Amici diagonal bounces off the prism surfaces 5 times verses one for a mirror or 90 degree diagonal prism. Most of the time you won't notice it unless you test them side-by-side.
WebApr 21, 2013 · The 2" diagonal plus the adapter on the eyepiece side for 1.25" eyepieces weighs 1.5lbs (amazing since the whole scope only weighs 6-8 lbs). I think it (mine) was the one that BillP felt was the best in his previous diagonal round up. This is because i ran out of room in moving the secondary up the OTA. The secondary is thicker than the original secondary by ~ 5mm. I also offset the diagonal by ~ 4mm towards the primary when glueing it to its holder.
